Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You will work on HVAC and plumbing design for new buildings and renovations, coordinating with multiple disciplines in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 1 year of related experience, and familiarity with REVIT, Trace 3D, and BLCC. We offer ESOP, 401k, benefits from day one, and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Architectural) with relevant project experience.
• Experience working on HVAC and plumbing design for new/building renovations preferred.
• Familiarity with building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate with disciplines, clients, and contractors on projects.
• Oversee energy modeling and life cycle cost analyses using Trace 3D and BLCC.
• Create 2D drawings in REVIT (P&IDs, control diagrams, notes).
• Support construction-phase activities including review of submittals and RFIs.
