Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Loss Prevention Agent to protect store safety and prevent theft across locations. You will monitor entrances, aisles, and tills, and enforce deterrence measures in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include documenting incidents, supporting investigations with internal teams and law enforcement, and maintaining a secure, customer-friendly environment aligned with Ross Stores' values and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years experience in loss prevention, retail, or security.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners including law enforcement.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with associates at all levels.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Compliance with federal/state laws and background checks as required.
• Ability to make quality judgments quickly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances, exits, sales floor, and checkout areas to identify theft or fraudulent behavior.
• Observe and engage individuals exhibiting dishonest actions to prevent loss.
• Utilize CCTV and investigative resources to detect theft indicators and validate incidents.
• Document incidents, maintain evidence, and provide timely reports to leadership and Investigations teams.
• Partner with leadership and law enforcement to resolve theft cases and support apprehensions when authorized.
• Assist with trespass enforcement for repeat offenders per policy.
• Collaborate on major theft incidents and follow-up investigations.
• Identify and report safety hazards and operational vulnerabilities to store management.
• Perform additional duties to support loss prevention objectives.
