Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist to maintain a safe, secure store environment and support the Area Loss Prevention Manager across assigned stores. You will greet customers, monitor entrances, and deter theft with a professional demeanor and visible command presence.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, communicating indicators to leadership, training associates, and helping reduce shortages.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
• Retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Must comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including background checks, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment for associates and customers.
• Provides visible command presence and greets customers at store entrances/exits.
• Monitors entrances/exits and sales floor for potential theft by identifying suspicious behavior.
• Gathers theft indicators and communicates to Store Leadership and Loss Prevention Leadership.
• Assists with loss prevention initiatives and supports store leadership in safety procedures.
• Trains and educates associates on shortage reduction initiatives.
