Job summary

Placements24 partners with a growing logistics provider in Paarl, Western Cape, seeking a seasoned Logistics and Dispatch Manager. You will oversee daily dispatch operations, fleet management, route optimization, and driver coordination in a hybrid on-site and remote setup.

This role demands strong leadership, deep supply chain knowledge, and the ability to balance hands-on supervision with strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a logistics management or dispatch supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
• Experience with dispatch software and fleet management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage both on-site and remote work effectively (hybrid model).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the dispatch team, ensuring efficient workload distribution and performance.
• Develop and implement optimal routing and scheduling strategies for the fleet.
• Monitor fleet performance, track shipments, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate with warehouse operations, sales, and customer service teams.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
• Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Manage driver schedules, performance, and adherence to driving hours regulations.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any dispatch-related issues promptly.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure fleet readiness.
• Contribute to strategic planning for logistics operations and expansion.
