Placements24 is seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator for a growing logistics and distribution client based in Paarl, Western Cape. The role involves managing daily dispatch, optimizing routes, tracking shipments, and ensuring clear communication between drivers, clients, and management.

The ideal candidate will have experience with logistics software, route planning, and fleet management best practices, and can work in a hybrid setting balancing remote and on-site coordination.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics coordination, dispatch, or fleet management.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and transportation operations.
• Proficiency with logistics software and MS Office.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for drivers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily dispatch operations for a fleet of delivery vehicles.
• Optimize delivery routes and schedules for timely and cost-effective transport.
• Use logistics software to track shipments and monitor vehicle performance.
• Communicate with drivers, provide instructions and updates.
• Liaise with clients and sales teams to confirm delivery details and resolve issues.
• Maintain records of fleet maintenance, driver logs, and confirmations.
• Monitor driver performance and adherence to schedules and policies.
• Identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Prepare reports on dispatch activities, fleet utilization, and delivery performance.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
