Job summary

Benesch seeks an experienced litigation paralegal in Chicago to support a fast-paced trial team. You will manage large-scale discovery, prepare for depositions and trials, and coordinate with trial attorneys and external parties.

The role requires 8+ years of litigation experience, ABA-approved certification, and strong knowledge of federal procedures, CM/ECF and PACER. This hybrid position offers work-from-home flexibility and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certification (ABA-approved) and 8+ years of litigation experience in AmLaw 150 firm.
• Experience with all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery and trial.
• Strong working knowledge of federal court procedures and electronic filings (CM/ECF, PACER).
• Experience with One Legal, File & ServeXpress, Odyssey and similar e-filing portals.
• Experience with Opus 2, TextMap, CaseMap, iManage, Everlaw, Relativity, Trial Director and MS Office.
• Solid time management, organizational skills, high accuracy, proactive attitude; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in coordinating and managing all aspects of litigation.
• Handle large-scale discovery and e-discovery, including preservation, collection and production.
• Provide hands-on litigation technology support and manage databases and OCR tasks.
• Organize and maintain case files using automated procedures.
• Assist with preparing attorneys and witnesses for depositions and trials.
• Prepare for trials, manage exhibits, set up war rooms and attend trials as needed.
• Review and summarize depositions and manage witness affidavits.
• Interact with courts, agencies, experts, vendors and other firms to coordinate trial activities.
• Meet billable goals as established by practice management.
