Job summary
Chicago Housing Authority seeks a experienced paralegal to support the Office of the General Counsel on a broad range of litigation matters. You will assist with filings, discovery, and case management in state and federal courts and agencies, coordinating with attorneys and stakeholders to advance CHA’s interests.
The role involves managing court calendars, preparing transcripts/packets, and coordinating with internal teams on investigations and hearings, with eligibility for limited remote
Qualifications
- Experience in a significant litigation paralegal role with filings, pleadings, and discovery.
- Knowledge of docketing procedures and legal research practices.
- Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills; teamwork-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and assist in intake/setup of case files, including filings in courts and agencies.
- Assist in drafting pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery, affidavits, and trial materials; prepare related documents.
- Prepare exhibits, trial binders, hearing packets, and interview witnesses; manage scheduling and docketing.
