Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required and admission to the Illinois bar in good standing.
• Licensed to practice in federal courts with at least ten years of litigation experience.
• Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to supervise attorneys and staff and manage cases and programs.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of litigation as lead and trial counsel in state, federal, and administrative forums.
• Supervise attorneys and non-attorney personnel, provide training, review work product, and oversee internship program.
• Evaluate disputes in pre-litigation to determine best action for favorable resolution.
• Provide research and counsel on federal/state law, housing regulations, CHA policies, and ordinances.
• Advise CHA client departments to meet goals in compliance with policies and laws.
• Assist Deputy General Counsel in managing matters and supervising teams.
