Job summary

The Paralegal will assist CHA’s Office of the General Counsel to protect CHA’s legal interests under the supervision of attorneys. The role covers general litigation in state and federal courts and agencies, evictions, housing voucher hearings, code violations, and related matters.

Responsibilities include preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, trial materials, and maintaining dockets and matter management.

Qualifications

• A preferred graduate of ABA-certified program with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a significant litigation paralegal role, including filings and drafting pleadings.
• Experience leading discovery and using electronic databases; ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse team.
• E-discovery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Managing court filings in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
• Drafting pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery, affidavits and trial-related documents.
• Handling docketing, matter management, and coordination with clients and third parties.
• Assisting with intake, set-up of case files, and coordinating witness interviews.
