Job summary

Kane Partners LLC is seeking a Linux Telecom Support Engineer to troubleshoot production systems across Linux environments and networks. The role involves hands-on problem solving with VoIP and SIP technologies, and collaboration with customer engineering and development teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong Linux administration and log analysis skills, plus experience in telecommunications and Wireshark traces. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office work in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting Linux-based systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of telecommunications, VoIP, SIP, and networking.
• Experience analyzing Wireshark traces and network packet captures.
• Proficiency gathering and analyzing logs and traces through the Linux command line.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot production issues involving Linux operating systems, applications, networking, and VoIP platforms.
• Apply software fixes, updates, patches, and system upgrades.
• Analyze Linux logs, command-line output, and Wireshark packet captures to identify root causes.
• Work directly with customer engineering teams to resolve technical issues and discuss requirements.
• Document production changes and prepare Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
• Collaborate with development teams to report bugs, analyze traces, and support scheduled maintenance windows.
