Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Life Benefit Case Manager I to adjudicate Group Life Insurance claims with guidance from a Senior Manager. The role requires reviewing complex cases, accurate calculations, and adherence to policy and regulatory standards while delivering compassionate service.

The position supports a hybrid in-office/virtual work model, with at least 2 days in the office weekly, and offers opportunities for professional growth within a large benefits organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of claims experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and client-service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in PC environment and MS Word, Excel, and email systems.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with professionalism and compassion to gather data for eligibility.
• Adjudicates claims in accordance with policy and procedures and regulations.
• Calculates complex benefit payments with accuracy.
• Meets quality, productivity and customer service standards for claim reviews and decisions.
• Mentors and trains less experienced staff and supports professional development.
