Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a Life Benefit Case Manager I to review and adjudicate Group Life Insurance claims under supervision. The role handles more complex cases, including high-dollar calculations and death investigations, ensuring decisions align with Sun Life policies and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with benefits teams, document analyses in our online system, mentor junior staff, and participate in continuous improvement to enhance accuracy and service quality across claims

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of claims experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with others, written and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Review and adjudicate Group Life Insurance claims under established policies and procedures.
• Analyze eligibility and calculate complex benefit payments.
• Document analyses accurately in the on-line system and maintain supporting records.
• Escalate issues to management when needed and participate in training of junior staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processing efficiency and quality.
