Job summary

Brooklyn Law School in Downtown Brooklyn seeks a Systems and Emerging Technologies Librarian to lead the library’s systems, hardware, software, and web services. The role configures and maintains the library’s platforms, supports access, and evaluates new technologies in collaboration with campus IT.

The position reports to the Director of the Library and requires knowledge of Koha and digital resources, with a focus on accessibility and user-centered service.

Qualifications

• MLS or equivalent from an ALA accredited library school.
• 3 years of experience minimum, or substitution with relevant education.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of legal electronic information resources.
• Commitment to emerging library practices and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Library Systems Administration: Oversees the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Koha, EBSCO Discovery Service, OpenAthens, LibApps, and other tools.
• Technology Planning and Implementation: Investigates, implements, and supports new and emerging library technologies.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Collects and analyzes systems usage data to support planning and decision‑making.
• Instructional Technology and Training: Develops instructional materials and training for library tech usage.
• Collaboration and Vendor Relations: Coordinates with IT, vendors, and staff to maintain systems.
• Digital Collections Management: Manages in-house digital collections and institutional repository.
