Job summary

Travelers Canada is seeking a Litigation Specialist General Liability in a hybrid role across NY/NJ. You will investigate, evaluate, and resolve Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims, with responsibility for managing litigation, reserving, and settlement strategies.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytical thinking, and customer-service orientation. The position offers a broad base salary with potential bonuses, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 2 years liability claim handling experience and/or comparable litigation claim experience.
• License(s) may be required to comply with state requirements.
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
• Thorough understanding of commercial lines products, policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, and effective claims handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Directly handles assigned claims.
• Investigates, evaluates, reserving, negotiating and resolving claims.
• Develops litigation plan with staff or panel counsel to assure effective resolution.
• Attends depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials and other legal proceedings as needed.
• Maintains claim files and ensures timely communication and file quality.
