Travelers is seeking an experienced claims professional to investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate, and resolve General Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims. The role emphasizes quality service, sound coverage analysis, and timely communication with insureds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 3 years bodily injury liability claim handling and/or litigation experience.
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills; solid communication and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Directly handles assigned severe claims.
• Provide quality service and ensure file quality, timely coverage analysis, and clear communication with insured.
• Consult with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel as needed.
• Directly investigate each claim with appropriate parties to determine liability, damages, and contribution.
• Completes outside investigation as needed per case specifics.
• Identify and direct resources (Subrogation, Risk Control, experts) as needed.
• Verify injury or property damage through records and documentation.
• Maintain claim files and document activities.
• Use evaluation tools and CFA for quality and trend analysis.
• Maintain diary management to ensure timely handling and evaluate liability/damages.
• Establish reserves for indemnity and expenses.
• Recommend cases for roundtables and participate in discussions for improved payout.
• Share knowledge of creative resolution techniques.
• Develop and employ resolution strategies; disposition claims within authority.
• Negotiate dispositions with insureds and claimants or their counsel.
• Recognize alternate resolution methods and manage litigated claims with counsel.
• Track legal expenses and manage costs.
• Attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
• Update parties with new facts.
• License requirements may be needed within three months of starting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
