Job summary

Travelers is seeking an experienced claims professional in Melville, NY to investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve complex General Liability claims. You will provide expert guidance and training to peers while ensuring compliance with state regulations and internal standards.

The role offers a sign-on bonus and requires 5–7 years of bodily injury litigation claim handling with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• 5–7 years bodily injury litigation claim handling experience.
• Advanced knowledge of coverage, liability and damages analysis.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle assigned severe claims when coverage <= $2 million and file exposure > $500,000.
• Provide quality customer service and ensure file quality and timely coverage analysis.
• Consult with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel as needed.
• Directly investigate each claim with appropriate parties to determine liability and damages.
• Establish and maintain proper indemnity and expense reserves.
• Attend depositions, mediations and trials and update stakeholders.
