Job summary

KeyBank is hiring a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to shape its digital banking platform. You’ll drive design and delivery across web, API, and microservice architectures, mentor engineers, and elevate engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years in a senior engineer, technical lead, or architecture-focused role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (17+ preferred).
• Experience with Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem; REST API development and microservices.
• Proficient in Angular and TypeScript; building scalable enterprise web apps.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; cloud deployments (GCP preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable full-stack solutions across web, API, and microservice architectures.
• Build modern user experiences using Angular and TypeScript.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Partner with Product, UX, and Architecture teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Define API standards and integration patterns using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Deploy and support applications running in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery while maintaining quality and security.
• Implement deployment strategies that minimize downtime and support high availability.
• Champion infrastructure automation, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Lead architectural discussions and technical design reviews.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
