Job summary

Urban Land Institute in Washington, DC is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to help support staff and maintain IT systems. The role covers frontline user assistance and hands-on work with Microsoft 365 admin centers, Azure AD, Intune, and Azure infrastructure. This is a hybrid, full-time position based in our DC office.

You will handle Tier 1 and some Tier 2 tasks, prioritize tickets, and help with onboarding and documentation. A calm, service-first mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in IT support or systems administration with real-user experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 admin centers and apps.
• Working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and macOS (and iOS).
• Experience with Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platform.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune or similar device management tool.
• Clear, patient communication and ability to explain technical issues plainly.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as visible in-office IT support and first point of contact for staff.
• Resolve requests through ServiceNow, documenting and closing tickets timely.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software on Windows and macOS, in-person and remotely.
• Contribute to SOPs to ensure consistent handling of recurring issues.
