Job summary

Georgia Department of Transportation is seeking an IT training specialist to develop and maintain training content, deliver on-site and remote classes, and coordinate schedules across District 1 and 2 locations in Georgia. The role requires travel within the state and delivering engaging, learner-focused instruction using Teams and in-person classrooms.

The candidate will create PowerPoint presentations, trainer guides, manuals, storyboards, videos, and/or CBT modules, while tracking time,

Qualifications

5 BA/BS in in communications, teaching, IT or similar field; or Associate Degree w/2 yr of IT experience; or IT Certifications w/4 yr IT experience
4 Work experience in IT technical training or with computers, technology, IT applications/systems, and/or end user client support. Required
4 Excellent verbal and written English language communication, presentation, and teaching skills Required
5 Able and flexible to travel within the State of Georgia to provide scheduled in-person training Required

Responsibilities

Adheres to the priorities, procedures, objectives, and guidance of their GDOT Team Leader and IT management.
Keeps Team Lead fully informed of work schedule, technical issues/risks, or any travel or accommodation concerns.
Learns and maintains knowledge of GDOT IT applications to a level sufficient to effectively teach and guide learners in its use and operation.
Maintains, coordinates, and communicates training schedules/course offerings with end users and stakeholders.
Ensures training environments and data are ready prior to training classes.
