Job summary

The Legislative Research Council in Pierre, SD, is seeking an IT Support Specialist for a full-time, on-site role. You will provide tier-1 support in a hybrid IT environment, assist with setup and maintenance of workstations, and create end-user documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, business, or related field.
Proficient understanding of software/hardware installation, configuration, support, and maintenance.
Ability to learn unfamiliar hardware/software quickly through documentation.
Expertise in using/troubleshooting Windows and iOS devices.
Clear communication of tech solutions to non-technical audiences.
Willingness to work extra hours during legislative session.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support, service desk coverage, and tier 1 systems administration in a hybrid IT environment (Windows and iOS).
Serve as the primary IT contact for inquiries and requests, escalating advanced issues as needed.
Set up and maintain workstations, peripherals, software, printers, and VOIP phones.
Create and maintain end-user documentation and provide training as needed.
Track inventory of IT equipment and assist with IT projects.
