Job summary

Volunteers of America is seeking an Information Technology Manager to lead the IT function across Maine and New Hampshire. You will supervise technical support staff, manage the help desk, and partner with leadership on budgets, planning, and technology needs.

You will oversee Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, Intune, and PowerShell, while maintaining cybersecurity, backups, and disaster recovery in line with HIPAA requirements. Travel to program locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Five years of IT experience supporting end-user computing, business apps, and networks, with at least two years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Enterprise Microsoft environments experience (Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, Intune, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, backup and recovery, and HIPAA requirements.
• Experience managing vendors, contracts, and IT budgets.
• Healthcare, housing, or human services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technical support staff, including hiring, training, assignments, performance evaluations, and corrective action.
• Manage help desk operations and the ticketing system, set service standards, and monitor response times.
• Develop and manage IT budget, technology plan, and equipment replacement schedule.
• Manage IT vendors, contracts, software licenses, and service agreements.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and system documentation.
• Lead IT projects from planning through implementation and advise leadership on technology needs.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (user accounts, email, devices, access) with HR onboarding/offboarding coordination.
• Oversee cybersecurity, data backup, and disaster recovery per HIPAA and other requirements.
• Maintain network infrastructure, devices, and IT asset inventory across locations.
• Provide escalated technical support and resolve complex issues for staff at all levels.
• Research and implement automated/systematic approaches to system administration and support.
• Travel to programs across Maine and New Hampshire for on-site support and visits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
