Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Helpdesk Analyst to join our IT support team in Welkom, Free State. You will be the first point of contact for a wide range of technical issues, providing essential support to internal users and maintaining IT infrastructure.

You will handle tickets, troubleshoot hardware/software, and assist with asset management while contributing to knowledge-base articles. Hybrid work requires commuting to the Welkom office.

Qualifications

• Experience in a helpdesk or technical support role.
• Strong Windows and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Fundamental networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Must be able to commute to Welkom office for hybrid work.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve end-user technical support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software for end-users.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose common IT issues, including network connectivity, printer problems, and application errors.
• Provide support for desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and standard office applications.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or specialized teams when necessary.
• Document all support requests and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
• Assist with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
• Contribute to the development of IT knowledge base articles and user guides.
• Ensure a positive end-user experience through prompt and courteous service.
