Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Business Analyst to join its IT functional systems team. The role focuses on improving business capabilities by facilitating process and system improvements, and by collaborating with internal and external staff and key business partners.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience supporting IT systems, processes, or capabilities.
• Understand IT processes in a complex, highly integrated environment.
• Knowledge of retail or IT industry best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Understanding of application development and software development lifecycle concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; Use Case and User Story development.
• Prefer experience with Agile (SAFe, Scrum).

Responsibilities

• Perform business analysis at the strategic, operational, and organizational level; work with key users in the continual improvement of business processes
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear requirements, user stories, functional designs, and acceptance criteria
• Analyze business processes, system capabilities, user experience, and data to identify gaps, root causes, risks, and recommended solutions
• Support projects from requirements through implementation, including testing, defect resolution, documentation, training, and post-launch support
• Proactively manage assigned deliverables and communicate project status, timelines, risks, dependencies, and issues to Project Managers and key stakeholders
• Support production systems by partnering with IT and business users to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, test solutions, and drive timely resolution
• Develop and maintain process, system, and user documentation to ensure accuracy and support effective adoption
• Support change management efforts by assessing impacts, preparing users for changes, and ensuring appropriate communication and training
• Apply critical thinking and structured problem-solving to evaluate alternatives and recommend effective business and technology solutions
