Job summary

LRSolutions, LLC is seeking a talented Patent Agent to join their IP - Patents Practice in a hybrid arrangement. The role targets candidates with a strong background in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Physics and 2+ years of patent experience, with exposure to data science, ML, AI and related technologies.

You will collaborate with inventors and attorneys to draft and prosecute patent applications, perform novelty searches, and contribute to portfolio management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Physics with excellent academic record.
• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience in data science, machine learning, AI, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, IoT, optics or related fields is highly advantageous.
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and writing skills with attention to technical detail and organization.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and documentation for patent portfolio management.
