Job summary

Talent With Heart is seeking a skilled Patent Agent to join a prominent AmLaw 50 IP patent practice in a hybrid role. Candidates with strong technical backgrounds in EE/CS/Physics and patent experience are preferred.

The position emphasizes collaboration with inventors and attorneys on cutting-edge patent strategy. Ideal applicants will have 2+ years of patent experience, familiarity with data science, ML, AI, and related tech areas, and a track record of precise drafting and negotiations with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with excellent academic record.
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things, optics or related fields is highly advantageous.
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.
