A leading AmLaw 50 IP firm is seeking a Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property – Patents Practice. The role is hybrid and open to multiple locations, with strong growth opportunities for scientists moving into the legal field.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in EE/CE/CS/Physics with a solid academic record and 2+ years of patent prep/prosecution experience. Knowledge in data science, ML/AI, IoT, optics, or semiconductors is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with excellent academic record.
• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things, optics or related fields is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.
