Job summary

OpenAI’s Internal Communications team is seeking an experienced professional to translate research and product work into clear employee communications. You’ll own programs, work with researchers and engineers, and shape the messaging that keeps the company informed.

Based in San Francisco, CA with a hybrid schedule, you will develop plans, draft content, manage reviews, and deliver timely updates across leadership channels, Slack, FAQs, and All Hands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in internal or product communications or journalism.
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling for a varied audience.
• Experience coordinating stakeholders and managing deadlines.
• Experience with AI or research teams a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring internal communications programs covering priorities and milestones.
• Plan and deliver project communications, coordinating input and reviews.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear stories for employees.
• Build relationships with researchers, product managers, engineers, and partners.
• Write and edit content across channels, including All Hands materials.
• Develop demos and Q&A sessions to share updates from technical teams.
• Maintain and improve editorial workflows and templates.
