Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced internal communications leader to own the strategy for our Enterprise & Growth portfolio, spanning B2B, Revenue, Partnerships, Marketing, Enterprise Engineering, Ads, Commerce, and Consumer Verticals. This role partners with executives to explain decisions and connect business goals to employees.

You will drive leadership updates, develop narratives, and guide communications through rapid growth while safeguarding sensitive information. Hybrid NYC or SF base.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in internal or executive communications or related field with ownership of complex programs.
• Experience advising senior leaders with discretion and strategic recommendations.
• Excellent writing and editorial judgment for varied leadership voices.
• Curiosity about how business growth and technology intersect with user experiences.
• Strong program leadership, ownership, and adaptability in ambiguous work.
• Resilience and sound judgment under compressed timelines and pressure.

Responsibilities

• Set and deliver the communications strategy for Enterprise & Growth, leading from recommendation to execution.
• Advise senior leaders, shape narratives, and provide clear framing and timing.
• Manage leadership transitions, organizational changes, and cross-functional explanations.
• Lead company-wide user and customer storytelling with engaging programs.
• Incorporate employee feedback to improve understanding, morale, and trust.
• Keep programs moving as priorities shift and adapt communications accordingly.
• Strengthen and share practices across the Internal Communications function.
