Job summary

The University of Michigan is seeking a CSPD Instrument Coordinator to act as the primary liaison among CSPD, Operating Rooms, Clinics, Supply Chain, Finance, Informatics, physicians, vendors, and other stakeholders.

This role ensures the availability, integrity, regulatory compliance, and efficient utilization of surgical and clinic instrumentation while supporting operational excellence, quality outcomes, and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of sterile processing experience required.
• Certification through an accredited Sterile Processing Organization such as CBSPD or HSPA required.

Responsibilities

• Instrumentation Management & Inventory Oversight.
• Tray, Set, and Process Management.
• Customer & Stakeholder Relations: establish SLAs and guide procurement of reusable instruments.
• Coordinate instrument drop-off/pick up times and collaborate with Peri-Op Informatics on tray tracking.
• Primary point of contact for new set creation and ensuring flow compliance across CSPD, Clinics, Supply Chain, and OR Informatics.
• Support quality, compliance, education, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
