MassDOT is seeking an Instructional Design Intern to join the Learning and Development team in Boston. You will assist in creating engaging e-learning modules, lesson plans, and assessments, working with subject matter experts to transform content into interactive experiences.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with instructional design principles, including learning theories and program development.
• Basic experience with authoring tools and multimedia design software is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
• Creative thinking, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Coursework or projects related to instructional design, curriculum development, or adult learning principles.
• Experience creating presentations or educational content (e.g., through coursework, volunteer work, or personal projects).
• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) or educational technologies.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the design and development of instructional materials, including e-learning modules, lesson plans, and assessments.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and transform it into engaging learning experiences.
• Support the review and revision process of existing instructional materials based on feedback and best practices.
• Participate in usability testing and gather feedback to improve learning outcomes.
• Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) to create interactive content.
• Apply instructional design best practices, research insights, and stakeholder feedback to guide and continuously improve project development.
• Help organize and maintain project documentation and resources.
