Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks a Lead Mechanical Building Engineer for Industrial Water projects. This role, based in the United States with hybrid work options, will act as a technical specialist and lead multi‑discipline engineering teams from concept through delivery.

You will champion quality and safety, mentor staff, and collaborate across disciplines on large‑scale projects, leveraging an employee‑owned culture and broad global resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent engineering experience.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Proactively provides guidance on department design guides, standards, systems and codes; may own or develop engineering standards.
• Ensures compliance with quality programs and supports continuous improvement and risk management.
• Prepares complex engineering deliverables and performs advanced calculations for projects.
• Manages budgets, schedules and quality requirements while guiding project teams.
