Job summary

FirstLight Power is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Northfield, MA. Hybrid role with some remote work, reporting to the Engineering & Construction Manager. You’ll maintain real-time control systems, support cyber-security, and lead capital projects to ensure safe, reliable power generation and storage assets.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in SCADA/EMS, PLC/DCS, and strong knowledge of automation tools and network security. Travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field.
• 3+ years experience with SCADA/EMS, PLC/DCS in power systems.
• Knowledge of GE Fanuc and Allen Bradley PLCs preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Wonderware, AVEVA PI Historian and Visio.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modify real-time control systems including PLCs, RTUs, HMI, SCADA and associated networks.
• Support cyber-security and regulatory compliance for OT networks.
• Lead capital projects from requirements to FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Develop procedures for operation, disaster recovery, and upgrades.
• Analyze hardware/software issues and coordinate vendor work.
