Job summary

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. in Westborough, MA, is seeking a Senior Controls SCADA Engineer to design, develop and deploy PLC-based power plant controller logic for grid-connected and islanded operations.

The role requires hands-on PLC programming, Ignition SCADA experience, knowledge of OPC UA, DNP3, Modbus and GOOSE, plus strong cybersecurity practices. Occasional travel and a hybrid work model are expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC programming in industrial automation.
• Knowledge of OPC UA, DNP3, Modbus, GOOSE.
• Experience with protection relays and switchgear.
• Ignition SCADA (Vision or Perspective) experience.
• Industrial cybersecurity best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy PLC logic for power plant control in grid operations.
• Develop with IEC 61131-2 standard using structured text.
• Interface with protection relays and switchgear for plant ops.
• Address cybersecurity concerns and requirements.
• Configure OPC UA, DNP3, and other protocols for data.
• Perform system commissioning, testing, validation.
• Report development status and timelines to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with program/project engineers to deliver controls functionality.
