Job summary

Connect Search, LLC is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to support daily HR operations in a Chicagoland manufacturing setting. The role partners with leadership on employee initiatives and offers broad HR exposure across benefits, payroll support, onboarding, and compliance.

The ideal candidate brings a hands-on, collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance policy with practical solutions for a growing operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, benefits, and payroll.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance; multi-state experience preferred.
• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and other business applications.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
• Support onboarding, offboarding, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
• Assist managers with employee relations, performance concerns, and consistent application of company policies.
• Support payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS processes.
• Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate employee records and support compliance with applicable employment laws.
• Partner with leadership to identify HR needs and recommend practical improvements.
