Job description

Due to growth, we are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our team and drive our HR initiatives forward. In this vital role, you will serve as a key partner in human capital strategies, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with employment laws for multiple divisions in the Chicagoland area. Additionally, we have employees located throughout the United States.

Your energetic approach and HR acumen will help shape a positive workplace culture, streamline HR processes, and support organizational growth. Responsibilities

• Assist in end-to-end talent acquisition processes, including sourcing candidates via ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees through comprehensive orientation programs.
• Actively engage in employee relations by addressing concerns promptly, answering policy questions, and promoting a positive work environment.
• Support organizational design and change management efforts through project management skills, effective communication strategies, and data collection for HR analytics using the Human Capital Management system.
• Maintain accurate HCM records, ensure data entry integrity, and generate reports to inform strategic planning and HR sourcing decisions.
• Uphold legal standards across all HR functions and ensure compliance with employment laws in all states in which employees are located.
• This position is key to updating human resource policies, including our handbook and time‑off policies.
• Assist the payroll and benefits administrator with administering payroll and benefit programs. Be the back‑up payroll person.
• Employee engagement and morale building.
• Coordinate training programs.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and regulatory filings as needed.
• Assist in the acquisition process.
• Ability to successfully administer and manage multiple projects with changing priorities in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications

• Being able to use the HCM system efficiently, preferably high proficiency in Paylocity.
• Proven ability in employee engagement and morale building.
• Proven experience as an HR Generalist with a strong understanding of employment law in all states.
• Previous experience with payroll processing, preferably with Paylocity.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage conflicts effectively and foster positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities with experience in training & development initiatives and organizational design projects.
• Previous experience with HR programs for multiple divisions.
• A relevant degree or certification in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
