Job summary

AUTOKINITON in Chicago, IL is seeking an HR professional to lead recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and policy adherence. You will partner with managers to address HR needs and ensure a compliant, engaged workforce.

The role reports to the Human Resource Manager and emphasizes building relationships, driving initiatives, and maintaining records in a manufacturing/operations setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business; Master’s degree preferred.
• Six+ years HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or operations.
• Knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, safety, benefits and payroll.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Support recruiting, onboarding, staffing, and workforce planning.
• Coach leaders and support employee engagement initiatives.

Job description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for recruitment efforts, new hire orientation and onboarding, employee termination, payroll and benefits, company policy and procedure adherence. In addition, you will build strong relationships with our company's managers in order to help them with their human resource needs.

To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:

• Advise employees and managers on HR policies, workplace concerns, performance, attendance, and corrective action.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, staffing, and workforce planning.
• Coach leaders and support employee engagement and organized initiatives.
• Maintain employee records and ensure compliance and employment laws.
• Champion colleague relations “fun activities” (ex. Plant Picnic, Christmas Party) and community service activities (ex. Blood Drive, United Way, etc.).
• Coordinate performance reviews, training, development, benefits, and leave support.

This full-time role is a part of our Human Resource team and reports to the Human Resource Manager.

Required experience:

• Bachelor’s degree, prefer in Human Resources or Business. Master’s degree preferred.
• Six or more years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or operations.
• Knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, safety, benefits administration and payroll.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
