Job summary

Viking Cruises in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support payroll entry, onboarding, HRIS maintenance, and compliance. This hybrid role requires in-office presence on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.

You will manage payroll data, I-9 compliance, leave-related reporting, and respond to HR inquiries while collaborating with employees at all levels. 3–5 years HR/payroll experience and a Bachelor’s degree preferred; strong Excel skills and AI tool familiarity

Qualifications

• 3-5 years HR experience with payroll processing focus.
• Familiar with general HR policies and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Familiar with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with employees virtually and in person.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and time-management focused.
• Practical problem-solving skills.
• Maintain integrity and confidentiality.
• Experience with Excel.
• Ability to use AI tools to support work processes.
• Ability to learn HRIS quickly.
• Interest in growth in HR.

Responsibilities

• Enter biweekly payroll including wages, bonuses, deductions, and PTO.
• Enter new hire information into HRIS and timekeeping systems.
• Audit payroll records and HR files for compliance.
• Coordinate with payroll processor for changes and enrollment documents.
• Manage HR and payroll inboxes and respond to inquiries.
• Facilitate new hire orientation in person and virtually.
• Complete I-9 inspections for new US hires.
• Coordinate with Leave of Absence for leave-related payroll processes.
