Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Graduate HR Assistant to join the HR team in Paarl, Western Cape. You will support recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, and employee relations while gaining broad exposure to HR practices.

The role offers hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced HR professionals in a dynamic environment. A recent graduate is encouraged to apply for this contract role with future opportunities.

Qualifications

• A relevant Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
• Foundational understanding of HR principles and practices.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment, including posting ads, screening CVs, and scheduling interviews.
• Support onboarding of new employees, documentation and orientation.
• Maintain employee records and update the HRIS.
• Assist with administration of employee benefits and payroll queries.
• Help organize HR events, training sessions, and engagement initiatives.
• Respond to general inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
• Assist in preparing HR reports and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR policies.
• Support other HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Work in a hybrid capacity based in Paarl, Western Cape.
