Job summary

GMHC is seeking a Housing Specialist to support housing stability and entitlements coordination for formerly homeless clients in its Supportive Housing programs. You will ensure program compliance, engage clients based on needs, and help with long-term housing retention.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with at least 5 years of housing-related client experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
• Experience with housing resources, entitlements, and case management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing support services, including rent collection and benefits assistance.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding and maintain client housing stability.
• Conduct home visits and inspections across NYC boroughs with client welfare in mind.
• Collaborate on individualized service plans to promote stability and self-sufficiency.
• Maintain records, reports, and dashboards for program accountability and funder reviews.
• Engage in cross-department projects and interagency meetings as needed.
