Zusammenfassung

BestSelf seeks a Housing Specialist to assist homeless mentally ill individuals, including those with co-occurring substance issues, in obtaining safe housing and maintaining stability. You will identify housing options, coordinate with housing agencies, assess eligibility for government programs, and help resolve landlord-tenant conflicts.

You will work as part of the Homeless Services Housing Team providing case management and referrals to develop daily living skills.

Qualifikationen

• Must understand common mental disabilities and substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of community housing resources and eligibility criteria for housing programs.
• Strong oral and written communication, math basics, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and take initiative.

• Maintain file of available housing resources.
• Screen clients for housing program eligibility and assist with applications.
• Meet with clients and landlords to resolve issues.
• Link clients to support services and provide transportation as needed.
• Participate in team meetings, case finding and outreach activities.
• Monitor client stability and treatment participation; maintain records.
