Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group in Detroit is seeking a Home Inspection Underwriter to join our Personal Lines team in a hybrid, full-time role. You will evaluate inspections within authority, collaborate with other underwriters, and help insureds address property loss control deficiencies while recommending improvements.

The role calls for 2+ years of experience, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Prestige and Middle Market Underwriters on mitigating risk and navigating property actions.
• Partner with teams across the organization on various projects and initiatives to further develop knowledge of the operations conducted at insured locations; and to ensure the accuracy of the risks we insure.
• Leverage new tools and/or processes that are developed to improve Underwriter experience.
• Partner with more experienced Sr. Home Inspection Underwriters as part of the continued development of skills related to the internal functioning of the Home Inspection Team.
• Ability to counsel agency partners on homeowner’s replacement cost and provide guidance when needed.
• Support your agencies and/or states assigned, remaining available for agency visits or agency-facing presentations.
