Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Home Inspection Underwriter to evaluate inspections within authority, collaborating with senior underwriters to resolve identified property loss control deficiencies and recommend improvements for better risk management.

You will work with a cross-functional team to develop knowledge of insured locations, ensuring accuracy of risks and supporting agency partners with guidance on replacement costs. This role is hybrid and full-time, based in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of work experience in underwriting or a related role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Prestige and Middle Market Underwriters to mitigate risk and manage property actions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand insured locations and ensure accurate risk assessment.
• Leverage new tools and processes to improve underwriter experience.
• Mentor and develop with Sr. Home Inspection Underwriters as part of ongoing skill growth.
• Counsel agency partners on replacement cost guidance for homeowners.
