Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join a fast-paced FP&A team. The role focuses on transportation initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, and board presentations.

Hybrid work at ShipBob headquarters. You will perform monthly analyses, prepare the operating plan, generate investor reports, and partner with Transportation to forecast margins and cost drivers. Strong modeling and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related degree.
• 3-5 years of experience in FP&A or another related field.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in our Chicago office
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to various stakeholders.
• High comfort level with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite, Smartview, SQL, PowerBI, and Power Query is preferred.
• Enjoy nurturing business partnerships with senior management and teams.
• Demonstrate the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization by thinking strategically and building and executing action plans.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough analysis on transportation initiatives each month and communicate key performance drivers and variances to plan to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to strategize and report on weekly performance, especially related to Transportation. Provide a timelier outlook on shifts in ship costs and margin.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms up forecasts and provide areas of risks and opportunities.
• Support the development and implementation of models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan by engaging with the Transportation team to build appropriate plans and targets and convert this into the financial budget.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting presentations for investors and the board highlighting key business metrics, variance to budget and other relevant trends.
• Provide insightful study of key operational business metrics, develop margin analysis, and communicate findings to respective business partners.
• Utilize professional knowledge, business acumen, financial concepts, and company objectives to develop and improve models and procedures.
• Proactively provides solutions to business needs in creative and effective ways. Analyze and help optimize investments behind key company strategies.
• Network with stakeholders across the company to gain a better understanding of the key objectives and how you can help achieve them.
