Job summary

Metro is seeking a collaborative Modeling and Forecasting Manager to lead a team responsible for forecasting, modeling, and analytical work for regional transportation planning in the greater Portland area.

The role requires leadership, technical expertise in land use and transportation forecasting, and experience delivering data-driven analyses to inform investments and policy decisions. Hybrid telework with onsite work and Oregon residency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the area of assignment or a related field is required.
• Five years leading or supervising people are required.
• Two years project management experience in area of responsibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for transportation and land use modeling, forecasting, and related regional planning initiatives.
• Direct the creation of forecasting and technical analysis to support major regional planning efforts, including RTP, MTIP, transportation corridor studies, and NEPA compliance.
• Provide modeling and forecasting leadership for FTA funding initiatives and other federal grant submittals.
• Guide regional planning and forecasting efforts supporting greenhouse gas reduction targets and long-range land use planning.
• Partner with planning, policy, and program teams to identify forecasting needs and deliver data-driven analyses.
