Job summary

Street Plans is seeking a mid-to-senior Transportation Engineer to lead the design and delivery of multimodal transportation projects, serving as a technical and project leader within the team. You will mentor staff, take ownership of deliverables, and collaborate across planning, design, public engagement, and implementation.

The role supports municipalities and government, non-profit, and private clients to design safety, accessibility, and public space projects with a focus on walking,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in transportation engineering with active transportation focus
• PE license; willingness to expand licensure to multiple states
• Experience delivering Quick-Build projects
• Experience with government agencies and multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to lead technical work and deliverables
• Spanish language or GIS skills are a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design and technical development for multimodal projects
• Develop conceptual designs, layouts, striping, traffic control plans
• Take ownership of tasks from concept to final design
• Mentor junior staff and build team capabilities
• Support public meetings and workshops
• Lead or contribute to Vision Zero and safety plans
• Analyze transportation data and traffic conditions
