Job summary

Maryland Department of Labor’s FAMLI Financial Services seeks an Accounts Receivable Accountant II to manage employer contribution accounts and AR transactions, ensuring GAAP-compliant records and timely reconciliations.

The role supports month-end close, financial reporting, and audits while collaborating with the Finance team at 100 S. Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21201. Hybrid work arrangements may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent with auditing course work.
• Two years of experience applying GAAP to accounting records and reports.
• Experience with accounts receivable and reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Proficiency in computerized accounting systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employer contribution accounts and AR records.
• Research and resolve account discrepancies and prepare reconciliations.
• Process AR transactions including adjustments, credits, refunds, write-offs.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Support close activities and financial reporting for audits.
