Job summary

GHD is seeking an Environmental Project Manager in Decatur, AL, to lead contamination assessment and remediation projects as part of our US East Environmental group. The role involves managing investigations, design, and implementation of remedies for contaminated industrial sites, with a focus on client-facing deliverables.

The position supports a hybrid work model with in-office collaboration three days a week, and requires a strong background in environmental consulting and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or environmental science.
• Ten+ years of environmental consulting experience including management of projects (e.g. contaminant investigation, remedial design, compliance).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) is a plus.
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and adapt to changing client needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams focused on investigation, evaluation, design, implementation, and optimization of remedies for contaminated sites.
• Prepare proposals, strategies, and deliverables in client-facing roles.
• Communicate complex issues concisely in technical writing and meetings.
• Manage projects to schedule and budget, delivering high-quality products.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or environmental science

PE or PG license is a plus
