Job summary

GHD is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our Southeast Environmental team. You will work alongside senior staff to develop your professional skills within contamination assessment and remediation projects, performing field duties and contributing to technical reports.

The role offers a hybrid in-office schedule, opportunities to work on municipal solid waste and remediation sites, and exposure to a broad range of environmental challenges in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in environmental industries is preferred.
• SPCC/SPR, SPDES familiarity is desired but not required.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD is a benefit; advanced design experience is a plus.
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to travel and perform field work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performing a wide variety of field duties on environmental projects including inspection, monitoring, and oversight.
• Conducting environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants.
• Responding to environmental emergencies across the country to perform field tasks and monitor impacts.
• Contributing to technical reports, proposals, and budgets with senior staff.
• Supporting design calculations for solid waste facilities and remediation systems.
• Assisting with Permit Applications/Renewals related to operations at facilities.
