Job summary

Whitley Penn is seeking an Accounting Manager for the Energy Accounting & Consulting team in Houston. The role focuses on developing tools and processes for Oil & Gas Upstream clients, supervising associates, and delivering high-quality client service.

You will work with the Energy Practice leader to implement accounting solutions, train staff, and drive business development while upholding firm standards and policies across engagements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Oil & Gas upstream/E&P accounting
• Experience with setting up accounting functions/processes
• Proficiency in accounting principles and industry standards

Responsibilities

• Lead the Oil & Gas Accounting group and oversee staff
• Develop tools, systems, and processes for upstream accounting
• Ensure client service plans and budgets are managed effectively
• Provide on-the-job training and performance coaching
• Maintain relationships with clients and resolve issues timely
