Whitley Penn, one of the nation’s leading audit, tax, and advisory firms, is looking for a Controller to join our Energy Accounting & Consulting (Energy-AC) team in Houston.

The Energy-AC Controller will lead Upstream/O&G accounting engagements, develop tools and processes, train associates, and manage client relationships with a consultative approach. Hybrid schedule; strong supervision and client service required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas accounting and analysis, primarily with Upstream/E&P.
• Experience with setting up accounting functions/process as well as implementation acumen.
• CPA, CA, CMA or APA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools, systems and processes for Oil & Gas Upstream accounting clients.
• Serve as a liaison between partner, client and staff; manage multiple client engagements.
• Ensure outcomes meet professional and firm standards and monitor engagement economics.
